Student Achievement Results

Student achievement in California is determined by tests taken by all 11th grade students in the subjects of mathematics, English and science.

Our English scores have remained stable around 60% for the last three years and math scores have steadily increased to almost 50% with a high of 48%.  Asian and Hispanic students score similarly in terms of meeting standards in ELA.  A significant gap between groups exists in math, with over double the number of Asian students meeting standards (80%) compared to almost 40% of Hispanic students.

Our ELA percentage of 64% compared favorably to State results (48%) and mathematics of 47% to State results (37%).  District was 46% in ELA and 37% in mathematics.

Our students are strong in reading and listening comprehension and few students are far below standard in most areas.  We need to focus on writing quality and higher-level research and analysis skills.  Students generally understand what they read and hear, but translating that understanding into better writing and research is the main instructional gap.

In mathematics, we had the lowest percentage of students performing below standard in communicating reasoning with concepts and procedures with highest percentage of students below standard.  In the 2024–25 school year, Abraham Lincoln Senior High students outperformed the overall LAUSD Grade 11 population by approximately 10 percentage points in the "Met or Exceeded" category
