Support Provider applications are available in room 201. The application is due by November 16 at 3:00. Return completed applications to Brig Tratar. Teachers who apply for the position of Support Provider must be permanent classroom teachers in good standing.

This is to inform you that Legislature approved that lunch be extended by 10 minutes tomorrow Thursday, November 5 for our Clubs Fair. The schedule will only affect period 4, lunch and period 5 as follows: Period 4 (11:34 - 12:25) Lunch (12:25 - 1:05) Period 5 (1:11 - 2:02) Thank you for your understanding. Make sure you visit the clubs stands.

This is a reminder that if you are going to be absent from work you must do the following: 1- Call the sub-desk at 877-528-7378 to request a substitute (if needed) 2- Call our school at 323-441-4600 to inform us of your absence. It is extremely important that you notify the school of your absence since substitutes sometimes arrive late and we do not know whether to cover your class for a few minutes or the whole day. Please assist us in making sure that the instructional program is the least disrupted as possible.

A senior assembly is scheduled for Monday, October 26th during period 2. Students should receive summonses in their period 1 class. Please take roll and then let the students go to the auditorium. Teachers with senior classes please take roll and then escort your class to the auditorium. The assembly will concern college information, senior activities, senior president speech and other information. I am attaching to this e-mail all the information pertaining to the Language Appraisal Team (LAT). There are several documents that you may want to download and print. I'm sending you this information in the efforts of going green. Please print as you see fit.

The PSAT is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Lincoln High School will be operating on a regular bell schedule; the PSAT will be administered and proctored by all counselors, some coordinators and administrators. The scheduled test will be administered in two (2) sessions. Session 1 (Periods 1-3)Grade 10 and Session 2 (Periods 4-6)Grade 11. Teachers with true 10th and 11th grade students will receive student summons and a cover letter with specific instructions. Teachers with true 10th and 11th grade students during the scheduled sessions may have zero to few students during each session, please plan accordingly. We will be taking care of attendance (Testing Team), if a student is not in your classroom please adhere to the attendance taking procedures. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Vasquez. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.

As a reminder, daily attendance taking is essential to both our contracted record keeping requirements and our tracking of students for safety concerns. Attached to this email are two reminders of daily attendance taking procedures. Also, we are conducting daily tardy sweeps during the beginning of periods 1, 3, and 5, and we are conducting random tardy sweeps during periods 2, 4, and 6. Please do not let students in to class without first referring them to the cafeteria during a tardy sweep. Usually, the tardy sweeps for period 1 are done by 8:10am, period 3 by 10:40am, and period 5 by 1:15pm. Since we are focusing on the importance of student instructional time, please do not let students depart from class before the bell rings. Also, please do not leave your classrooms unattended for any length of time. If an emergency arises, contact the main office. (O'Reilly)

The PHBAO conferences will take place on Tuesday, November 24 from 5 to 7 pm. and Wednesday, November 25 will be a Minimum Day. (Rosas)
