IN-PERSON SUPPORT
- If you need support, go to Room 201A to see Ms. Barraza, PSW, or Ms. Espinoza, PSA
- You can also go to the MAIN OFFICE to speak to an administrator or the COUNSELING OFFICE to see Mr. To, Ms. Mayani, or Ms. Girón.
- Changes in mood, behavior, or appearance
- Low grades
- Not wanting to go to school or skipping class
- Low motivation isolation/withdrawal
- Irritable/easily angered
- Feelings of sadness and hopelessness
- Difficulty concentrating
- Changes in appetite or sleep
- Aggressive behaviors
- Loss of interest in activities that are enjoyable
- Feeling overly worried
RISK FACTORS
- Mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders
- Previous suicide attempts
- Family history of suicide
- Exposure to another person’s suicide
- Loss of job, marriage, housing, or health
- Prolonged stress from harassment, bullying, relationship problems, or unemployment
- Access to lethal means such as firearms and drugs
- Increased alcohol or drug use
- Childhood abuse, neglect, or trauma
