Article VIII -Officers
Section 1 -Officers
"The officers of the LHSAA shall, at a minimum, be a President, a Vice president - Membership, a Vice president - Public Relations, a Secretary and a Treasurer and they shall makeup the Association’s Executive Board. In addition, 5 officers, as the Executive Board may deem necessary, shall make up an Auxiliary Board."
Section 2 -Elections of Officers
"The officers of the Association shall be elected at the June meeting each year by MIGS. Each officer shall hold office for two years or until a successor is elected or upon that officer’s resignation, removal or death. Any vacancy, other than that created by the normal ending of a term, may be filled by a special election of a qualified candidate for the remainder of the unexpired term."
"All elections of officers within LHSAA shall be by ballot, a majority of votes cast being required for a choice. The Board shall receive the ballots from the Secretary, and shall oversee the counts conducted by the Sergeant-At-Arms and Parliamentarian acting as Tellers. In cases of ties, MIGS would be asked to vote again to break the tie."
"All officers shall be elected for two year terms in alternating years as follows: Beginning with 2008, elections for the offices of the VP - Public Relations and Treasurer, shall be held in even numbered years. Thereafter, the elections for President, VP - Membership, and Secretary, shall be held in odd numbered years. An elected officer shall serve no more than two terms (total of four years) in the same office. After two consecutive terms in one office, individuals may be elected to other offices with no hiatus."
Section 4. -Voting and Other Rights of membership:
Members in Good Standing (MIGS), "MIGS must be present to vote, no absentee ballots shall be counted"
