So, I know it was hectic before class let out today.  Here are the homework assignments for Thursday.

 

1.  Finish the co-created paragraph providing evidence for one of the sample (or your own) tone analysis introductory paragraphs.

 

2.  Please start reading chapter 3 and taking notes on it (you do not have to complete the activities).  

3.  Also, if you are missing any homework, you need to turn it in by Thursday to give me a chance to grade it and add it for your 5 week grade (which is due next week).

Please complete the following and bring them to class on Friday:

 

1.  Complete the "What is the American Dream" reading/multiple choice questions/writing prompt assignment (if you did NOT turn it in already)

2.  Complete the Multiple Choice passage and questions that I passed out.

3.  Complete the argument essay on the 2011 Form B, Mencken quote about safety versus freedom.

Dear AP Lang Rockstars, 

 

Homework assignment #1:  Read and take notes on Chapter Two of Writing America.

 

HW #2:

Write an argument essay on the 2011 AP Form B prompt.  Your essay should be at least 500 words.  It should completely address the prompt, display your ability to reason and provide evidence to support your argument, and should use only your previously-acquired knowledge and experience.  Please write your essay in ink (dark blue or black) on lined paper and be prepared to turn it in on Wednesday.  Your name, the class, and the due date should be listed at the top of the paper.

 

NOTE:  In case you forgot it, the argument essay prompt is attached below (just in case).
