AP U.S History Assignments

 

Welcome to AP United States History, a course designed for two purposes, to learn about United States history and to best prepare you for the Advanced Placement exam in May. An emphasis will be placed on mastering a significant body of factual information, interpreting documents, and writing critical essays.

Course Objectives – Students will:

• Master a broad body of United States historical knowledge.

• Demonstrate an understanding of United States historical chronology.

• Use historical data to support an argument or position.

• Interpret and apply data from original documents, including cartoons, graphs, letters, etc.

• Effectively use analytical skills of comparisons, cause-and-effect relationships, and evaluations.

• Prepare for and experience the AP exam for United States history.
