She will be presented the award by Senator Ed Hernandez at the Kaiser Permanente building in Boyle Heights on Saturday, 16 April 2011. Jessica was nominated for this award by the Army JROTC department and was selected based on her demonstrated leadership and significant contributions to her school and community through her community involvement and volunteer work. This award is to recognize outstanding young women such as Jessica Guerra as a role model for other young women to emulate.
