TA Evaluations

I hope you are enjoying your classes as we get on the way with the second semester.  Attached you will find the Evaluation Form for the Special Education Aides in your classes.  Please make time to complete and to discuss the form with each one of the aides in your classes, including one-on-one aides and RSP aides.

It is anticipated that evaluation forms will not take long to complete and will indicate "Meets Standards" in all areas.

If you find that you need to give a "Does not meet" or a "Below" standards in any area, we ask that you provide the aide with assistance and guidance for the area(s) needing improvement. Document and provide Mr. Yao or me a copy of the support provided and allow the aide a two-week time period to demonstrate improvement.  Then, please have (and document) a follow-up conversation with the aide.  (Chronic absences are being handled by Mr. Yao and myself.  However, you will need to inform us of any chronic tardies to particular classes or any other awkward attendance issue with your particular class.)

At the end of April, you will be asked to complete and turn in a final evaluation for each of the aides in your classes.  Your  completed evaluation will have the highest influence (85-90%) on the aides' final evaluation, which will be done by me.

Please do not record a "Does not meet" or a "Below" standards on the final evaluation if the aide has not been given DOCUMENTED  support and guidance and adequate time to improve.

If you need assistance with this process, please contact Mr. Yao or me, and we will be happy to work with you.
