Algebra 1 “Concepts, Skills, and Problems Solving”

Course Description: Symbolic reasoning and calculations with symbols are central
in Algebra. Through the study of Algebra, a student develops
an understanding of the symbolic language of mathematics and
the sciences. In addition, algebraic skills and concepts are
developed and used in a wide variety of problems-solving
situations.

Class Expectations:
• Be on time and have good attendance.
• Be prepared. Bring textbook, notebook, homework, pencils, paper, etc.
• Attentive. Pay attention in class and take notes.
• Be responsible. Complete and turn in assignments on time and make up work missed, due to absences.
• Be respectful to fellow students and teachers.
• No electronic devices are allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
• No chewing gum, eating and drinking allowed in class.
(Students are allowed to carry and drink from a water bottle with a cap)



Grading Scale:
90 – 100% = A
80 – 89 % = B
65 - 79 % = C
50 - 64 % = D
0 - 49 % = Fail
