Lincoln High School's library had the honor of hosting author Jennifer Niven who visited on Wednesday October 5, 2016, the day after the release of her second young adult novel, "Holding Up The Universe."
One of our wonderful ELA teachers, Ms. Lauer, started the conversation with Vroman's Bookstore about having Ms. Niven come to Lincoln.
Ms. Niven spoke to roughly 60 of Ms. Lauer's students, many of whom read and loved Ms. Niven's first young adult novel, "All The Bright Places," and were eager to ask questions from the author herself--a rare privilege.
We were able to offer both novels for purchase and the queue of students waiting to have their books autographed by Ms. Niven was like that of a rock star signing records, back in the day anyway.
Many thanks to Ms. Lauer, Vroman's, and most of all Ms. Niven for such an amazing experience.
Providing invaluable assistance in preparing and hosting this event were library practice students Daniel Alvarez, Sharon Lei, Anna Li, William Phung, Nhi Gin, Jason Li, Eng Lim, Khanh Ly, Anais Becerra, Randy Orozco, Tin Chieng, Edmund Lee, Alondra Camacho, Viviana Moreno, Nhu Nguyen, Claudio For Huerta, Brandon Lo, Amira Soliven, Ruben Diaz, Ivan Huang, Lupe Nicolas, Vincent Zhu.
Photography credits: Alondra Camacho.
