Financial Services - Career Pathway with Mrs. Velasquez

Hello Everyone,

It brings me much joy to share the knowledge I've acquired throughout my 10 years in the finance industry with our Lincoln Tigers.

Providing critical financial literacy tools to high school students and their families is one of the most important ways we can help make our communities become stronger. Giving them this knowledge is crucial if they are going to make the sound financial decisions needed to achieve their career and college aspirations. Which is why we are partnered with U.S. Bank to reach not only our students, but their families as well. 

Financial career opportunities are available in every sector of the economy and require skills in organization, time management, customer service and communication. This career Pathway is designed to give high school students the ability to obtain such skills and knowledge in banking and Finance to become financial literate young adults and to prepare them for life after high school.

The program is broken up into two sections Concentrator Course, and a Capstone Course and is intended to be taken in two consecutive years. 

Throughout the courses students have the ability to receive a certificate in Financial Literacy and Customer Service, and participate in an Entrepreneurial course only offered in selected schools (entrepreneurial course is only available for capstone class). In addition, students are gaining employability skills such as customer service, cash handling, written and oral communication, management of bank services, organization, and time management.
