I want to take a minute to thank and recognize Ms. Fatima Romero-Flores and Ms. Miriam Cardoza for accepting to be this year's JUNIOR CLASS CO-ADVISORS. As Junior Class Advisors, they have agreed to meet on a regular basis with the Junior Class Cabinet to support them in their efforts to organize events, activities, and/or fundraisers. They will also lead them in preparing for next year when they become seniors. They accepted the students' invitation knowing that the commitment is to be their Senior Class Advisors next year. Thank you Ms. Romero-Flores and Ms. Cardoza:) I would also like to thank and recognize Ms. Reina Pastor who was the Junior Class Advisor next year and is this year's Senior Class Advisor. As you can see, she does not have a co-advisor, so, if there is anybody who would like to assist her in taking this year's seniors all the way to graduation, please let her know. Thank you Ms. Pastor:)

Lincoln HS Drumline placed first with a score of 82.30, beating Fairfax by 3 points at American Drumline Association Championships at Long Beach City College on Saturday, April 26, 2014. There were five other schools that participated in their division, and Lincoln was the only school that scored above 80. This Saturday (5/3) they compete at LAUSD Pep Championships.

From LA TImes: Sal Castro, a veteran Los Angeles Unified School District teacher who played a central role in the 1968 "blowouts," when more than 1,000 students in predominantly Latino high schools walked out of their classrooms to protest inequalities in education, died in his sleep Monday after a long bout with cancer. He was 79.

The film, "The Marfan Syndrome" is about one student's true life discovery of her physical condition, Marfan Syndrome, a genetic disorder which can affect the eyes, limbs, connective tissue, heart valves and aorta and other parts of the body.
