UC and CSU Requirements

California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) Campuses require the

A-G requirements

A. History- 2 years

One year of world history, cultures and geography; and one year of US history or one-half year of US history and one-half year of American government 

B. English- 4 years

Composition and literature 

C. Mathematics- 3 years (4 years recommended)

 Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 higher levels of math are recommended for UC campuses 

D. Science- 2 years of laboratory science (3 years recommended)

One year biological - Bio or H. Bio or Physiology

One year physical science - Chemistry or Physics 

E. World Language- 2 years (3 years recommended)

 Study in the same language other than English 

F. Visual and Performing Arts - 1 yearlong course    

Art, drama, music, dance

G. Elective-1 year

 Classes from the areas listed above. 

 

CSU Requirements

·         Complete the required A-G courses with grades of “C” or higher.

·         GPA must be 2.0 or higher

·         Take the SAT or ACT

·         Application opens October 1. Application can be submitted between Oct. 1 – Nov. 30

UC Exam Requirements 

·         Complete the required A-G courses with grades of “C” or higher.

·         GPA must be 3.0 or higher

·         Take the SAT or ACT

·         UC recommends SAT Subject Tests (2 different subject tests, not Math 1)
